Join SeaSmart for our Earth Day kickoff - Advocating for the Ocean Through Art.

In partnership with EarthDay.org, we have a variety of events planned, with the theme of “Restoring Our Earth.”

There’s two ways for middle and high school students to participate-join us for either or both!

Attend our Art Advocacy Workshop on May 17th, 7-8pm for inspiration, to learn about artists that have used their gifts to advocate for the ocean and to discuss advocacy through art. We will share interesting examples across all mediums.

Enter our Art Contest, which runs from April 22-May 28th

Any student may enter. Entrants may enter as many pieces of work as they wish to. Each piece should be submitted separately.

Entrant’s art submission:

  • can be in any visual medium

  • should communicate the message of restoring our earth with a connection to ocean conservation (problems and/or solutions!)

  • should include a photo of their art along with a brief explanation of their submission (what is the message, how did you communicate it, what medium did you use, why did you focus on this topic, etc

Deadline for submissions is May 28, 2021. The contest winner will be chosen by June 4th, 2021. Winner will receive a SeaSmart prize pack and have their art featured on SeaSmart’s social media pages!

There is no fee required for either, though a $10 donation is appreciated so we can continue to expand our programs!
